The OTA API provides functionality to update eCall settings on remotely deployed SIM cards.
Description
This API Specification service enables the customer application systems to update the following eCall settings on SIM cards while they are deployed remotely.
- To change an eCall Profile on a SIM from eCall Plus operation (GSMA eCall Normal) to eCall Only operation.
- To update eCall Test and eCall Reconfiguration numbers on the Fixed Dialing Numbers (FDN) list, and the Service Dialing Numbers (SDN) list stored on the SIM card.
Use Cases
The OTA API may be used by client applications wishing to:
Change the eCall profile on a SIM remotely, switching from eCall Plus operation (GSMA eCall Normal) to eCall Only operation, ensuring devices align with the required emergency call configuration.
Update eCall Test and eCall Reconfiguration numbers stored on the SIM's Fixed Dialing Numbers (FDN) and Service Dialing Numbers (SDN) lists, keeping emergency and test dialing configurations current across deployed devices.
Apply these updates over the air to SIMs already deployed in the field, avoiding the need for physical access or device recall.
